Deadline
October 31, 2009, 5:00 p.m. was the application deadline for entry in September, 2010. Our online application for entry in September, 2011 will be available in late Spring, 2010.
Application Method
The following documentation is required in the Office of Admissions by the published deadline:
- Completed Online Application Form.
- Official academic transcripts sent directly to CMCC from all Canadian post-secondary undergraduate institutions at which the applicant has been/is registered.
- For international applicants, all additional documentation as outlined in the section “Applicants from outside Canada" on the Application Requirements page.
Admission Process
Academic Component – The minimum academic requirement for consideration for admission is a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale from at least 3 full years (15 full year courses or 90 credit hours) of undergraduate university study in Canada. Marks obtained from graduate work are not calculated into the CGPA. All academic requirements must be completed no later than May 31st of the year of registration aty CMCC.
Applicants holding Master's or PhD degrees at the time of the application deadline, and who otherwise qualify for admission, will be ranked at the 75th percentile of the admission pool or will be ranked according to their undergraduate academic CGPA, whichever is higher.
Interview Component – Interviews are granted if the applicant meets the required undergraduate cumulative GPA of 2.50 on a 4.00 scale. Qualified candidates are notified by mail of an interview date, time, and location, and will be asked to provide CMCC with a copy of their one-page autobiographical sketch using the template/suggestions provided, and this bio will be reviewed by the interview team immediately prior to the interview. Telephone interviews may be granted in cases where applicants are residing outside Canada. All interviews are conducted in the English language.
The interview fee of $185 in Canadian funds is due in advance of the interview. On the interview date, applicants must provide proof of identity with an official government document that has a photograph, e.g. drivers licence or passport.
Preparing for your interview - We recommend that you take a tour of CMCC with one of our Year 4 interns. Tours are available on a drop-in basis Mondays through Fridays between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., and are arranged through our Clinic Receptionist. If you are interested in sitting in on a lecture, please contact admissions@cmcc.ca or 416-482-2344 or 1-800-463-2923 a few days before your planned visit. As well, we recommend that our applicants gain personal chiropractic experience through job shadowing or volunteering at a chiropractic clinic or becoming a chiropractic patient if they are not already one. We also recommend that you conduct your own research on the chiropractic profession, and we have provided links to suggested readings for your interest.
The Interview - The personal interview lasts about 20 minutes. The interview team considers the candidate’s motivation, problem solving ability, self directed learning experience, past chiropractic experience, personal qualities, leadership qualities, and interest in wellness and health promotion. The interview also allows the candidate to clarify his/her understanding of the profession, the program and student life.
Assessment – The Admissions Committee considers the candidate’s academic assessment and interview results in making its final selection. Candidates are rank ordered according to their CGPA, and 192 will be offered admission. A set number of applicants are placed on a waiting list.
Results – All applicants will be notified of their application outcome by mid March.
