Useful information for applying to CMCC Residency Programs, and to help prepare for the admissions process.
Application Prerequisites
Applicants must be graduates from or enrolled in the final year of a chiropractic program accredited by the Council on Chiropractic Education Canada of the Federation of Canadian Chiropractic, the Council on Chiropractic Education (US), or an accrediting agency that is a member in good standing of the Councils on Chiropractic Education International.
Prospective students are encouraged to speak to the Program Directors or Director, Graduate Studies for specific program details.

Transcripts and Documentation
Transcripts from institutions outside of North America must be evaluated on a course by course basis by World Education Services, Inc. (WES). This is the only agency from which CMCC will accept foreign transcript evaluations. Applicants must set up an account with WES, designating CMCC as a recipient. Official copies of transcript evaluations must be forwarded directly by WES to CMCC.

English Language Proficiency Requirements

Additional Requirements for Students Studying in Foreign Universities and International Students
Compliance with the Canadian Department of Employment and Immigration (under the Department of Human Resources and Skills Development) regulations governing the entrance of foreign students. Applicants are advised to contact their nearest Canadian government representative to ensure compliance with such regulations.
Foreign nationals are required to hold and present a valid study permit from Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) in order to register at CMCC. CMCC will retain a copy of the student’s study permit, for the duration of his/her academic program, subject to institutional requirements as determined by CIC. Invitation for interview
Interviews are granted to qualified applicants who meet the application criteria. The interview lasts approximately 30-45 minutes.
Research is an integral component of the program. All students are expected to start the program with a supervisor and research topic. The supervisor must be a CMCC faculty member with a PhD.
Prior to attending the interview, applicants must identify a research supervisor and potential research topic. This involves meeting with faculty to determine what research opportunities are available.

Application Review
Application packages are reviewed by the Selection Committee and qualified applicants will be invited for an interview with the committee.
Assessment
The Selection Committee will consider both the application information and the interview in making a final decision. Up to 10 qualified applicants may be offered admission. The top five candidates will qualify to receive a Fellowship Award.
Notification of Outcome
All interviewed applicants will be notified of the Selection Committee’s decision within four weeks of the interview. Unsuccessful applicants who wish to reapply are required to complete a new application form and resubmit supporting documentation. Acceptance Applicants receiving an admissions offer must confirm their intention to attend the graduate program by submitting a non-refundable registration fee to CMCC.

Applicants are advised to contact Citizenship and Immigration Canada to ensure compliance with the regulations governing the entrance of foreign students. Foreign nationals are required to hold and present a valid study permit from Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) in order to register at CMCC. Eligibility and application requirements are available at http://cic.gc.ca/english/study/index.asp.
CMCC will retain a copy of the student permit for the duration of his/her academic program, subject to institutional requirements as determined by the CIC. International students who are not residents of Canada will be required to provide evidence of personal health insurance coverage at the time of registration.

As part of your application, you will be required to submit a current curriculum vitae (CV) in the prescribed format of the CMCC CV template as well as completion of the Personal Essays form. All required documentation for online submission must be completed and uploaded before you will be able to complete your online application.

Letter of Good Standing - Clinical Education
Information to aid in your submission
Please submit sealed copies of official transcripts from all chiropractic programs and post secondary institutions attended. If you are a CMCC student, upon completion of a Transcript Request Form, grades will be forwarded to Graduate Studies Admissions.
There are four essays (each 250 words or less) that will aid the Selection Committee in obtaining a better understanding of your non-academic attributes and activities. Personal essays must be completed using the provided form.
The CV must be submitted according to the CMCC CV template.
Letters of reference are required from three individuals of your choice and should not include family members or friends. At least one must be from a community member (e.g. clergy, employer or supervisor) and one from a professional (e.g. a chiropractor or other health care practitioner).
It is your responsibility to ensure that the referee writes the letter and sends it to the Division of Student Services c/o Graduate Studies, Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, by the appropriate deadline. Email admissions@cmcc.ca
Sign and forward a letter of Good Standing Form for completion by the Clinic Director involved in your chiropractic education. The form is to be returned directly to CMCC by the Clinic Director by the appropriate deadline.
