My interest in epidemiology began with the systematic review I conducted during the Clinical Sciences residency at CMCC. Under the supervision of Dr. Pierre Côté, I described the course and prognostic factors of cervical disc herniations with radiculopathy. I learned epidemiological designs and methods, and my journey in research and epidemiology continued from there. After obtaining the Clinical Chiropractic Fellowship, I worked as a Research Associate for the development of the Minor Injury Treatment Protocol project at the UOIT-CMCC Centre for Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation. I was involved in the infrastructure development, critical appraisal of the literature, and the conduct of systematic reviews. I am currently an Associate Clinical Research Scientist with the Graduate Education and Research Programs at CMCC, where I am responsible for infrastructure development and the conduct of clinical research for musculoskeletal conditions. As an Assistant Professor at CMCC, I also teach a course on systematic reviews and critical appraisal of the literature to graduate students. My research interests in epidemiology continue to evolve. I am currently completing my Master of Public Health in Epidemiology, and will be starting a Doctoral program in Epidemiology at the University of Toronto in September 2017. In my doctoral work, I hope to advance public health approaches to musculoskeletal conditions through epidemiological research.
