CMCC students added career planning to their Valentine’s Day itinerary this year with Practice OpportUnity ’18. On Wednesday, February 14, students and chiropractors came together for the annual event that provides examples of life and work as a chiropractor. The day consisted of a discussion panel, keynote speaker, lunch and learn session and trade show.
Keynote speaker Dr. Shane Kraft (Class of ’92) delivered an engaging and insightful presentation about building a dream practice in Canada. The Ontario Chiropractic Association (OCA) Practice Realities Panel featured Drs. Melanie Abbott-Cambridge, Richard Magder, Geoff Outerbridge and Nakessa Remy. The panel presented three case studies, followed by a question and answer period and a key takeaway session.
The trade show brought together 31 vendors and 31 chiropractic exhibitors, demonstrating business products and showcasing practice opportunities for new graduates. There were 26 clinics in attendance, representing BC, Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario.
This year, CMCC introduced the Practice OpportUnity mobile app, providing attendees with access to event day information such as schedules, speakers, exhibitors, sponsors and lead generation, and allowing them to participate in the new PracticeOp game with over 30 outstanding prizes.
The Canadian Chiropractic Association (CCA) was in attendance, along with a number of provincial associations: the Chiropractors’ Association of Saskatchewan (CAS), the Council of the Nova Scotia College of Chiropractors (NSCC) and the Ontario Chiropractic Association (OCA).
