Background

I earned a BSc in Biology (1967) and an MSc in Tropical Health (1969) from the American University of Beirut, followed by a PhD in Parasitology from McGill University (1974). After academic appointments at the Universities of Manitoba and Toronto, I pursued chiropractic training at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC), graduating in 1984. Since then, I have maintained private practice and held various academic and administrative roles at CMCC, including Chair of the Research Ethics Board since June, 2016.

My research spans both basic and clinical sciences, driven by a broad curiosity. A prominent theme has been examining phenotypic and cellular-molecular responses of biological systems to external stimuli. More recently, my work has focused on the role of inflammatory biomarkers in low back pain and their association with clinical outcomes. This integrative approach reflects my interest in and commitment to bridging foundational science with patient-centered research.
