We will be studying whether body type influences preferred mattress firmness.
The contribution of high-quality sleep to overall health and well-being has gained increased recognition. One important aspect of sleep quality is comfort, which is partly influenced by mattress firmness.
Given the vast differences in body types and pre-existing health conditions, it is reasonable to assume that mattress selection should be performed on an individual basis.
We are looking for people who:
All participants will receive a $50 e-gift card.
Participants will be asked to visit CMCC on three occasions over a two-week period. Each visit will be approximately 1.5 hours, during which you will lie down on a mattress for one hour.
After the one-hour rest period, you will complete some short questionnaires about how the mattress felt, including comfort, pressure, stiffness and satisfaction.
If you have any questions or want additional information, please contact the study coordinator, Dr. Joyce Lee, at jlee@cmcc.ca or the principal investigator, Dr. Sam Howarth, at showarth@cmcc.ca.
